Bottle Tree Pte Ltd started our first branch — Bottle Tree Village (宝瓶村)in 2004.
Mr Alex Neo, Our Director, who was so fascinated by the Bottle Trees that he saw in Australia that he just had to have some of them shipped over to Singapore, even if it cost him up to $30,000 each. The Village which occupies the former Sembawang Sea Sports Centre is now home to 4 of these Bottle Trees, also known as Brachychiton Rupestris which are native to south-west Queensland in Australia. The story goes that Mr Neo first learnt of the tree during a business meeting with Mr Danny McCarthy, the director of Station Creek Tree Farm, an hour's drive from Brisbane, in Australia. Of more than $600,000 invested in the village, at least $100,000 were spent on the plants, of which 25% was on shipping freight cost.
Enjoy the Restaurant specialties by the Johor Straits. There is amply dining space, either the shaded patios or just by the sea.
Bottle Tree Pte Ltd also started our second branch in Dec 2006– Bottle Tree Park.
You may have seen this private park in Yishun when you take MRT to Khatib. A 7 1/2 ha project that took 2 1/2 years to build and renovate into an old-world Singapore flavour can also be seen in little accents like a buffalo cart and thatched huts. The location includes a Chinese Seafood Restaurant, A Small Pond for Longkang Fishing, Prawn Fishing, Kids’ Pole Rod Fishing, DIY Vegetable Farming and many others.
Apart from bottle trees, grass trees, giant ferns and palms, also imported from Australia can be seen around the Bottle Tree Village and Bottle Tree Park (宝瓶庄). In Bottle Tree Park, you will get to see more than 30 types of fruit trees around the park. |
